Checking in

Sorry I haven't checked in for a while, but I haven't been feeling too well lately. I've taken some time off from work, I was feeling very down, very tired. I've been having several exhausting anxiety attacks. I have an appt with my doctor on Monday, so I'm hoping she'll be able to help me out. Sorry for rambling, just had to get it out!

I don't know if you follow American politics but we had our presidential elections yesterday. Big day for our country. Monumental. My husband's family is WAY into politics so it has been heated around here lately. I am SO ready for a break from it.

The election has been ALL over the news for months, and there were even 3 different channels on tv over here that broadcasted all night long, the night of the election. I'm glad it's over too!

Ok, so I had my appt with my doctor today. I almost didn't make it there, I was so nervous and ended up having an anxiety attack right before getting there! I totally broke down in tears the minute I stepped inside her office. Probably from all the tension.
I have a wonderful doctor and she thought it would be a good idea for me to stay home for another two weeks. Also, she referred me to a therapist, who I'm hoping will contact me soon! I obviously have a lot to deal with and it's totally draining me of energy. I've had trouble sleeping lately and so she prescribed me some sleeping pills. I've never taken any before and feel a bit hesitant, but she thought it would be a good idea, I need my sleep.
Anyway, just thought I'd update you on what's going on and why I'm not really as active on the board as I have been.

I'm glad a little of it has been addressed. I had to take sleeping pills about 10 years ago. I just couldn't fall asleep. I was in college and fighting some major issues of depression and I just laid awake for hours. I was hesitant to take them, too. I also never took them unless my room mate was home. But when I did take them, ahhhh... sooo much better!! I hope that all of these things help you, too!

Hi Helen-Sorry to hear your having trouble. Hope things are getting better. A couple of years ago my husband had a panic attack. It was so bad I called 911. I thought he was having a heart attack. They are nothing to fool around with and I'm glad you went to the Dr. His was work related stress and now that he has a new job. He is doing great. Chin up Helen, things will get better.
